The PhD Programme in Information and Communication Technology for Health (ICTH) intends to provide the student with the skills necessary to learn how to face and effectively manage the growing level of complexity of technological innovation, with particular reference to the medical field. Thanks to the synergy between different departments (one of engineering, 5 of medicine and one of law), these skills will not derive from the juxtaposition of "knowledge” but will arise from the interaction of technical-scientific cultures, even though very different, in multidisciplinary fields.
Specifically, the ICTH doctorate focuses on developing the skills needed to effectively address and manage the growing complexity of technological innovation, with particular reference to the medical field. Thanks to the synergy between different departments, these skills will not arise from the juxtaposition of "knowledge," but will arise from the interaction of very different technical and scientific cultures in multidisciplinary fields.
The doctorate is aimed at a very select number of graduates with a solid background, interested in the topics of the doctoral program, and motivated to improve their skills, competences, and knowledge in research and innovation.
Another goal of the program is to foster in students a critical and proactive approach to research, with an inter- and multi-disciplinary vision. This objective is made possible by incorporating the scientific expertise of the various areas within the College into the doctoral program. The goal of the doctoral program is to train doctoral students through a collective curriculum and specific research topics.
The research and training topics are organized into 3 major areas:
ICT for Health
Law for Health
Logistics for Health
For each of these lines of activity, various research topics are proposed, all detailed in terms of abstracts (oriented towards the world of research in ICT field) and objectives (focused on typical activities in the "Health" sector).
Information regarding the doctoral program is continuously updated on this website.
